ALERT CLEARED: November 11, 2022 7:00AM EST - All Service Regions Now Under Normal Operations.

Our thoughts go out to our family and friends in St. Lucie County and the surrounding impacted areas. We will provide any technical assistance upon request, but for now, our main concern is helping the people affected by Hurricane Nicole.

MAJicData employees are currently assessing storm-related damages, and are glad to report that our employees and families are safe. Our main concern is assisting the people of St. Lucie County first, then addressing any technical needs. As of 11.10.22 6:30AM EST, we are pleased to report no current technical service outages, nor were any logged during the storm. In-person service operations are still suspended until further notice. Our respectable, 24/7 remote support will continue to assist in any way possible. Continue to stay safe as the storm moves out.


We are closely watching Hurricane Nicole, as it is anticipated to affect our Central and South Florida service regions.

 

As of 11.8.22 4:00PM EST, MAJicData has suspended all in-person operations in all of its Florida service regions. Our highly respected 24/7 remote support will be available free of charge to all subscribed customers in Florida. Please stay safe everyone.

 

Due to the National Hurricane Center Advisory, we enacted our hurricane contingency plan at 11:15AM EST on 11.7.22 in advance of the storm’s landfall. All MAJicData IaaS, PaaS, and Cloud Data services, for all customers, were seamlessly migrated from our onsite Fort Lauderdale, Florida Data Centers to our onsite Nashville, Tennessee Data Centers as of 11.8.2022 3:16:04AM EST. Traffic shaping and seamless routing will be optimized by our SDWAN solution, providing minimal latency uptick between the new primary Nashville, Tennessee location. Replication is now active from our Nashville, Tennessee to Louisville, Kentucky Data Center. All MAJicData personnel are on full alert and prepared to address any storm-related issues.

 

We strongly encourage you to take precautions to protect operations by validating recent backups and confirming emergency contact information within your MAJicData Portal Zone. Our team will continue to monitor the storm 24/7 and will post issue updates, if any, when appropriate.

 

Reminder: Protect people, then your data. As for hurricane season, remember that any disaster planning and business continuity plan should focus on securing the safety of people first. Once personnel safety is addressed, look at your most valuable assets and develop a comprehensive plan to protect them bearing in mind that hurricanes not only can cause flooding but also lead to fires due to damaged wiring and intermittent power surges. For most modern enterprises, data is more valuable than gold. Protect people, then data, and then develop alternatives to keep people and data working no matter what is on the horizon.

 

MAJicData can ensure your company’s data is backed up and secured through regular system backups. Kept off-site, these backups will be preserved if a disaster strikes your office.

Facility Preparedness: 

We have completed our standard review processes and all work being done to further secure our facilities are now complete. This included clearing the area around our facilities of debris, checking and securing windows and doors, and ensuring that proper supplies are available.
 
Data Center Access:

Access restrictions enacted as of 11.9.2022 4:00 AM EST. Data Centers are now closed to the public, MAJicData engineers are onsite for remote hands and remote assistance at this time.

Emergency Power:
We have tested our emergency power systems and they are ready in the event that there is a loss of utility power. We have arrangements for emergency refueling if an extended utility outage is experienced. Emergency power will be used as needed to maintain the Fort Lauderdale Data Center operations.
 
Technical Assistance:
Every Data Center is staffed by skilled engineers and support personnel to ensure the security, integrity, and availability of our customers’ technology infrastructure 24/7/365. However, to ensure that we have extra resources available for our customers, we have additional personnel from outside of the projected impact areas standing by. These extra resources will be available to assist you as needed.
